Most of the bidders for the Hummer brand seem to be distancing themselves and dropping out of the race, against rival claims by General Motors, currently owner of the Hummer brand. Mahindra and Mahindra, one of the strongest contenders in the bid is the latest one to drop out, in a disappointing turn of events. The Vice Chairman of M&M Anand Mahindra said “There has been a lot of speculation. I want to say categorically we are not pursuing HUMMER.”

This pin pointed a statement should erase all traces of doubt, and thus Tata Motors remains the only bidder still pursuing the Hummer. Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska apart from China’s Hunan Changfeng Motor Co. have reportedly pulled out recently leaving but a few serious contenders. Though all of this is remains to be confirmed until a statement is made officially, it is a question worth asking as to what Hummer would currently be valued at given the rapid decline in sales and market prices that the brand has recently witnessed.
