mazda 3
Posted in Mazda on June 29th, 2009 by adminThe Australian small car market was taken over entirely by the all new Mazda3 as the rush for new cars this May saw Mazda getting record sales for new units in Australia. The 4 cylinder Mazda has taken over the crown from Australia’s former small car king, Toyota Corolla. The Holden Commodore, manufactured in Adelaide has regained the top spot as Australia’s highest selling car model.
The previous month, a record 89,218 new-vehicle sales was reported for the month of May, an increase of an amazing 18.3% as compared to the corresponding period last year. The previous best May ever in terms of sales was in 2008, just before the global financial meltdown, with 88,640 sales. The monthly spurt took the figure to 422,446 new-vehicle sales this year in Australia, a great 20% growth or 70,000 increase in car sales in the first five months of the previous year. The FCAI, or the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries, which released its Vfacts figures yesterday, expects to see a splendid 1 million car sales in the current fiscal.
