The new Chevrolet Impala, scheduled to be launched in 2009, is being dubbed the General Motors’ Holy Grail, in fighting off competitors in the rear-wheel-drive sedan segment.

The upcoming Camaro’s platform, under development at Holden, Down under would serve as a base for the new Impala. The main improvements of the new Chevrolet Impala over its 2007 version are in terms of length and width, with the wheels as far outside the body as possible, giving it maximum interior space.
