ford probe
Posted in Ford on July 14th, 2009 by adminThe Ford Probe, a coupe produced by Ford since 1989, was introduced to replace the company’s existing sports compact car, the Ford EXP. Based fully on the Mazda G-platform, the Probe used unique sheetmetal and interior. It borrowed the pop-up headlight mechanisms and instrument cluster from the FC RX-7. Intended to fill the market niche which the Capri formerly occupied in Europe, it was sold worldwide as a sporty coupe, and while it was supposed to replace the Ford EXP, it was also a suitable candidate to replace the Ford Mustang in the North American market directly competing with the Toyota Celica and the Acura Integra.
