Mitsubishi has decided to stall the production of upgraded 2009 models of Lancer Evolution X, due to financial constraints. The company has decided that remaining 2008 units will suffice for the  U.S. car industry at present. The Evo X was a popular seller for Mitsubishi last year, marking an increase in sales to around 51% .

No changes will be implemented by Mitsubishi this year as current stocks are expected to cover demand until the launch of the 2010 Evo X later this year. Even this new model is expected not to be updated a great deal, according to reports. While the company has not made any statements  about the volume of Evo X units they will launch, the car is expected to be priced from $30,000 to $40,000.
